Taichung Aquarium Set to Make a Splash in Taipei: A Decade in the Making

A new aquarium in the Cingshui District will be opened in Taipei, Taiwan, next year. Named Taichung Aquarium, the project has been under development for around a decade and will feature five floors.

The first floor will feature a large ocean aquarium, and the second and third floors will feature a coral display and a Jellyfish tank. Similarly, the fourth floor will display a river estuary and house a restaurant. At the same time, the final and fifth floors will feature a cafe and a garden.

Due to challenges in finding investment and operating the aquarium, development has been delayed. Likewise, the project has been delayed by a change in use from a penguin conservation center to a broader conservation scope that includes Jellyfish and Dolphins.

Nevertheless, the Taichung Aquarium will open next year, boosting tourism prospects for the area, especially in the neighboring Wuci Fishing Port.
